In addition to what has been said, I recommend turning two cards at once. Add up the values for your operating account at the same time. This is much faster than one by one, in part because when a card is a 1 and the other a -1, you can ignore them and continue.

Assuming that you can count on, you can be in practice at a time with only one bridge over the 1-Card. If you get over the bridge, you must be in "zero" on your account.

As you improve, you can go faster through the deck ....
